Offline Tactics to increase traffic from SEO ( Search Engine Optimization )

SEO is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine's organic, natural or free search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

SEO's primary goal is to drive traffic to a website thereby increasing the visibility of a website.

1.       Add vigour to your business cards

·         Mention the URL of your website on the business card.

·         Include your social media profile.

·         Customize your business card – from the regular black ink on white card, make it a visually attractive to have an instant impact and curiosity in the minds of the recipient.

·         Using a digital visiting card – providing link to your website or social media page, thereby prompting the recipients to explore through your website.

 

2.       Sponsor or hold events – Networking

·         More of a marketing initiative than a SEO, but it gives you an opportunity to network with people and get them onboard into visiting your website.

·         Networking through online means may not result in a personalized or for that matter the recipient may not trust you for obvious reason. But an interaction on a personal level through these events may actually yield a positive result.

 

3.       Traditional Advertisements

·         Does not directly improve the visibility of a website.

·         But it does create an awareness of your site.

·         Visually attractive advertisements to be shown via different media like TV,  radio and print ads. And mentioning the URL of your website or the social media page will generate interest in the minds of the recipients and prompt them to actually explore your website.

·         Need to make sure that the placement of such ads attract maximum audience and that the URL of your website is properly highlighted so as to induce a want in the minds of the recipients to actually visit the link.

·         Use of QR codes on print ads that would automatically direct the recipients to your website, thereby increasing the traffic.

 

4.       Mobile Advertising

·         Advertising on public means of transportation- buses, rickshaws, taxis etc.

·         Again QR codes can be strategically placed on such ads for travellers to directly access your website.
