Ebuss_blog entry_5

Dear Sir

Here is my another entry for your blog.

B2C market has picked up only low hanging fruits. There are untapped markets and others are not being used to its full capacity. B2C market is only 120 Million strong as of now. Talking about mobile commerce under B2C, 51% are still on their way, 46% have reached their destination showing a total demand among the public of 97%. There are various mobile commerce services offered like 26% apps are providing low cost services, 21% are giving personalized services, 19% are offering free minutes, and 26% are giving free coupons.

Out of the so provided data, 70% of users are those who are eating out daily, going for movies, etc i.e. high income group. There is a demand of mobile banking however, still 72% are going with online banking and not mobile banking. Also, though the traffic has increased ten times over internet still people prefer cash on delivery. As pointed out earlier in my previous posts, e-business is only showing us the rosy picture but there is a dark side to it as well.

According to business line news on June 16, a new app is being introduced which when went through and downloaded on your phone will provide the user with free talk time. Eureka Mobile Advertising in UK is already following the concept and is earning quite a lot through their revenue sharing model. They found this concept quite lucrative in India too because of the increasing demand of smart phones and penetration of internet, 48 million in December 2012. Moreover, Indians are driven more by price and value. Since they will be getting free minutes in this concept, they will definitely go for it.

On 19 November, this concept got finally introduced in India through Tata Docomo and Indicom. Now these users will have to go through various advertisements on their "Get" app and can get those free minutes as promised by the telecom provider on both GSM and CDMA sims for both 2G and 3g network. They in turn benefit through the revenue sharing model. However, all these benefits do come with some terms and conditions like the minutes cannot be used in roaming, while calling customer care or toll free numbers, etc.
